We spent a year learning from organizations about conflict, values, and psychological safety

1.

Conflict arises from two areas – emotion and task based. The ability to identify and resolve conflict stems from the state of a team’s shared values, psychological safety, and existing biases.

2.

To establish shared values, teams need to co-author their interpersonal goals. To use values to resolve conflict, there is a need to contextualize the specific moments that these values are not showing up in.

3.

Workshops, books, and coaches, training, and resources don’t meet people in the moment when conflict occurs between two employees.
